Shelby started out her 2000 field trial season (the weekend she turned 1 year old) by winning a 20-dog Open Derby stake and placing 4th in a 27-dog Amateur Derby stake at the Flaherty field trial grounds in CT. Shelby and sister Darby both had their Derby points by 15 months of age.
